The search for a new head girls basketball coach is now underway at one of Western Kentucky’s top high school girls’ programs. Athletic department officials at Marshall County High School confirmed to YourSportsEdge.Com that Aaron Beth has stepped down as the Lady Marshals head coach.
Beth, a Marshall County grad, steps down after three seasons on the job. During those three years, Beth’s teams compiled a 70-18 record.
His first team won the 1st Region championship over Graves County in overtime. They were about to take the court for the Girls Sweet 16 in 2020 when the tournament shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2021, the Lady Marshals reached the state championship game, where they would fall to Sacred Heart 49-47 in a somewhat controversial finish.
This past season, the Lady Marshals finished 21-6. Their season ended with a loss to McCracken County in the 1st Region semifinals.
