Caldwell County’s Ryan Hammett got a difficult draw at the state tennis tournament but put up a battle on Tuesday before falling 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, to South Oldham’s Carson Kroll.
Kroll had a much higher Universal Tennis Rating, but Hammett – the 2nd Region champion – held leads in both sets before dropping the match at the University of Kentucky courts in Lexington.
YSE spoke with Hammett following the match.
