It was a day of close misses for the University Heights Academy girls’ track team at the Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Class 1A State Track and Field Championships at the University of Kentucky Thursday.
The 1600-meter relay team of Aliviah Acree, Audrey Grise, Emma Dill, and Piper Hancock just missed the medal podium by a half-second with a ninth-place finish.
In her first state meet, Emma Dill finished 11th in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 51.24 seconds.
Piper Hancock finished 17th in the 400-meter run in 1:06.13.
Jaila Batey came in 20th place with a toss of 81-feet, 3-inches.
The 800-meter relay team of Aliviah Acree, Audrey Grise, Emma Dill, and Piper Hancock finished 15th in 1:55.50.
