Three Falcon Entries Make the State Track Medal Podium

Fort Campbell had two individuals and a relay team reach the medal podium Thursday at the Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Class 2A State Track and Field Championship in Lexington.

Mateo Cerritos Gatto reached the medal podium with a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter run in a time of 52.09 seconds.

Cerritos Gatto also medaled as part of the 1600-meter relay team. He, along with William Lubas, Amari Waddy, and Aidan Lindemen, finished in seventh place.

William Lubas missed the podium by just over two seconds with a 10th place finish in the 800-meter run.

Amari Waddy got a medal in the high jump after finishing in fourth place with a height of six feet.  Waddy also came in 11th place in the triple jump with a distance of 38-07.

Patrick Hayes was 12th in the pole vault.

Lyndell Smith finished in 16th place in the discus throw.

Xezavier Westbrook finished in 16th place in the high jump and John Montalvo was also 16th in the pole vault.

Kendall Reed was 17th in the shot put.

Josh Blanton finished 21st in the 3200-meter run.

Cruzy Cruz was 22nd in the long jump.

The 800-meter relay team of Cruzy Cruz, Ja’Torreyeon Jones, Mateo Cerritos Gatto, and Leon King came in 11th place with a time of 1:36.29.

The 3200-meter relay team of Amari Waddy, Aidan Lindemen, William Lubas, and Josh Blanton finished in 12th place.

The 400-meter relay team of Cruzy Cruz, Patrick Hayes, Leon King, and Mateo Cerritos Gatto finished in 13th place.

As a team, Fort Campbell tied for 23rd place with nine points.
