University Heights Academy produced a state championship and two school records Thursday at the Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Class 1A State Track and Field Championships at the University of Kentucky.

Connor Dill won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 39.89 seconds, becoming the first UHA athlete to win a state title since Isiah Pantiere won both the 200 meters and 400 meters in 2019.

Dill also finished in fourth place in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.41 seconds, just missing his school record by .14 seconds.

UHA’s 400-meter relay team pulled off a surprising third-place finish with a school-record time of 45.58 seconds. Mason Price joined the relay team last week and the combination of him, Trey Wyatt, Ethan Hale, and Griffin McCoy clicked.

Sam Cotthoff finished in fifth place in the shot put with a new school-record toss of 46-feet, 1-inch.

Mason Price was 13th in the 200-meter run in a time of 23.69 seconds.

Cole Glover came in 15th place in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:51.64.

Griffin McCoy came in 18th place in the triple jump with a distance of 35-feet, 10-inches.

The 1600-meter relay team of Connor Dill, Luke Shouse, Trey Wyatt, and Mason Price came in ninth place in 3:40.61 – missing a medal by four-tenths of a second.

The 800-meter relay team of Ethan Hale, Luke Shouse, Trey Wyatt, and Mason Price came in 14th place in a time of 1:37.03.

UHA tied for ninth place with 25 points. They were 16 points behind region runner-up Murray and scored 16 more points than region champion Fort Campbell.
