Caldwell County grad Jabrion Spikes had 10 points but the Kentucky Senior All-Stars fell to the Kentucky Junior All-Stars 106-100 Saturday afternoon at Louisville Eastern.

The game was a tune-up for the Senior All-Stars, who will take on their Indiana counterparts in the annual two-game summer series next weekend.

Spikes, who is headed to Georgetown College, was 4-of-11 from the field while also grabbing five rebounds and recording three assists in the contest.

Mitchell Rylee of Covington Catholic led the Senior All-Stars with 26 points while Mr. Basketball Turner Buttry of Bowling Green had 19.

The Junior All-Stars had six players score in double figures. That includes 13 points from Marcus Eaves, who played last season at Hopkins County Central but will suit up for Madisonville-North Hopkins in the 2022-23 season.

Kentucky and Indiana play a two-game all-star basketball series each summer. This year’s matchups will take place Friday, June 10, at the Owensboro Sportscenter and Saturday, June 11, at Southport High School in Indianapolis.

Kentucky has struggled in the series. Indiana leads 101-44 all-time and has taken 27 of the past 30 meetings.
