Elijah Underhill Named 1st Team All-State

After helping to lead his team to the 2nd Region championship and a berth in the state tournament, Christian County’s Elijah Underhill has been recognized for his performance on the field during the 2022 season.

The Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association announced its All-State teams Sunday and Underhill was named to the 1st Team All-State.

Going into the state tournament, Underhill was batting .382 with 9 home runs and 31 RBIs. He had 12 doubles, 3 triples, and stole 34 bases in 36 attempts.

On the mound, Underhill entered the state tournament with a record of 6-1 with one save. He had 132 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.05.

The Christian County Colonels finished the year at 29-8, winning the 8th District title and the 2nd Region title, after winning only 8 games during the 2021 season.
