Another member of the Lyon County baseball team will be getting the chance to continue his career on the collegiate level. In a social media post Tuesday, Corey Cissell announced that he would be attending Southeastern Illinois College.
On the mound, Cissell appeared in 11 games this season for Lyon County, six of those as the starter. Cissell was 3-1 with three saves for the Lyons. He had an ERA of 1.54 and finished the season with 53 strikeouts and only 16 walks.
Cissell helped to lead Lyon County to a 27-7 record and an appearance in the 2nd Region semifinals.
Southeastern Illinois College, in Harrisburg, is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I. The Falcons compete in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference.
