Despite a strong effort on the mound from David Ernst on Thursday, the Hoptown Hoppers couldn’t supply any run support in a 3-0 loss to visiting Full Count Rhythm.

Ernst went six innings and allowed only two unearned runs while scattering four hits and striking out six.  However, he was outdueled by Full Count’s Cade Granzow.  Granzow struck out four and issued a single walk with three hits over five frames to pick up the victory.

Anthony Smith doubled in the 5th and twice reached 3rd base, but the only other time the Hoppers came within 90 feet of a run was a triple by Sean Sullivan in the bottom of the 7th.

The Rhythm added its third run on a single by Henry Mosley in the 7th, and the Hoppers only managed one baserunner over the final two innings against Full Count reliever Jack Thompson.

Hoptown drops its second straight to slip to 10-14 with a visit from the Franklin Duelers coming up on Saturday.  The Duelers have won six in a row to lead the South Division at 16-6 overall.
