It was the girls’ turn at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club High School Invitational on Monday at the Hopkinsville Golf & Country Club. The host Lady Tigers only had two golfers in the field, but they made the most of it with a pair of top-10 finishes.

Cate Blane led the way for Hoptown in 5th place. She shot a 40 on the front and finished with a 38 on the back for a 78, five strokes back of 1st-place Madison Glisson of Mayfield.

Blane’s round included six bogeys, a double bogey, and a birdie on the par-4 10th. She was solid down the stretch, with a par on each of the last five holes.

Anna Fort was on a bit of a rollercoaster early on, posting bogeys on the first two holes before getting those strokes back with birdies on the 3rd and 4th.

Fort fired a 37 on the front, but her round came undone with bogeys on five of the last seven holes for an 81. She finished 10th, just ahead of UHA’s Rheagan and Conlee Lindsey in a tie for 11th.
