And the first one goes to the Tigers. Hopkinsville and Heritage Christian Academy took to the soccer pitch against each other for the first time Thursday evening at the Stadium of Champions. The Tiger defense limited the Warriors in shot opportunities and the offense had its moments as Hoptown picked up the 4-0 win.
The Tigers scored twice in each half. Spencer Powell and David Lopez found the net in the first half to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers would add two more goals in the second half. David Lopez scored his second goal of the night and Nick Klar found the net as well. Klar has now scored three goals in the two preseason scrimmages for the Tigers.
The soccer season will officially get underway Monday.
