The Caldwell County Lady Tiger soccer team is now 25-0-1 all-time against Trigg County after turning back the Lady Wildcats 3-1 Thursday night at Butler Stadium in Princeton.

Caldwell’s girls got first-half goals from Cali Traylor and Keegan Miller to go up 2-0 at halftime.

Traylor got help from Mariah Merritt to score the game’s first goal in the 16th minute.

Miller got her goal in the 33rd minute when her corner kick from the left side hooked and found the far side of the net to put the Lady Tigers up 2-0.

Merritt scored in the 42nd minute when she redirected a shot by Harper Ritchey to make it a 3-0 game.

Caldwell (2-0) had the better scoring opportunities for most of the match and outshot Trigg 29-8.

The Lady Wildcats (0-1) broke up the shutout in the 77th minute on a goal from the left side by Leiah Hite.

Hite just missed adding another tally about a minute later when she again created a scoring chance from the left side but put her shot just over the crossbar.

Caldwell has won 10 straight from Trigg since a 1-1 draw in the 2012 season.

The Lady Tigers will play again on Tuesday when they host either Lyon County or University Heights in a 2nd Region All A Classic semifinal matchup.

Trigg will play at home on Monday against Union County.
