Lady Wildcats Double Up Tilghman 4-2

The Trigg County Lady Wildcats won its second straight soccer match after an opening match loss with a 4-2 road victory at Paducah Tilghman Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats jumped ahead 2-0 with a pair of goals in a 10-minute stretch. Hallie Joiner’s second goal of the season got Trigg on the board in the seventh minute with Leiah Hite getting the assist.

Hite then got in on the scoring fun with a goal off a pass from Maggie Wolfe in the 17th minute.

However, Paducah Tilghman tied the game, getting a goal inside the final four minutes of the first half and the equalizer two minutes into the second half.

Trigg quickly answered when Lania Hite scored unassisted two minutes later. Olivia Noffsinger closed out the scoring with her first goal of the season in the 64th minute.

The Lady Wildcats return home Thursday with a 5:30 contest with Todd County Central.

— Trigg’s win evens the series with Tilghman at 4-4-1. The teams will meet again on Aug. 29 in Cadiz in the Class 2A Sectional.

— Trigg County’s game Thursday with Todd County Central will be the first between the schools in two years.
