Coming into its final season of Kentucky Christian Athletic Association play, Heritage Christian has a few more boxes to check before making the full-time move to the KHSAA in 2023.

The Lady Warriors played a hybrid schedule in 2021, winning the KCAA state title and posting a 7-5 record against KHSAA schools.

Coach Grace Stewart has four starters back from last year’s 32-6 team that didn’t lose a game against KCAA competition.

Senior Elle Heltsley earned All-Region and All-State honors at the hitter position and improved her game at the net with a busy travel season.

Sophomore Mya Goodwin’s worth was felt at nearly every position on the floor and earned her All-State Tournament honors. She will be asked to fill some of the void left by graduating hitters Tori Sutton and Lexie Crisp.

Senior Bailey Craft, who also earned All-State Tournament honors, returns to set the table for the hitters. Senior Macy Lake and junior Cora Hale join the starting rotation as does freshman Katie Cansler.

Sophomores Rachael Hansen and Macy Henderson along with senior Kailyn Stanley and middle schoolers Bralee Fowler and Hadlee Hayes provide depth and the ability to play several spots on the floor.

Stewart has continued the program’s success from previous coaches Eldridge Rogers and Brad Boyd and has a system in place to make HCA viable when the Lady Warriors become eligible for KHSAA postseason play next year.

Heritage Christian opened the season with a win at the Lancaster Volleyjam in Tennessee. Their schedule includes nine KHSAA matches in addition to a return to the KCAC State Tournament and the school’s inaugural All A Classic region tournament.
