Caldwell Volleyball Sweeps Webster in Home Opener

When Caldwell County and Webster County met in the 2nd Region semifinals last season they needed five sets before the Lady Trojans advanced, winning 18-16 in the final set.

The rematch Tuesday night in Princeton had a lot less drama, with the Lady Tigers winning their home opener in straight sets over Webster 25-13, 25-15, 25-21.

Caldwell, now 2-1, is practicing and playing its home matches in the Caldwell County Middle School gym while work is being done on the floor at the CAB gym.

Ellie Ramey led the Lady Tigers against Webster with nine kills, four digs and three aces. Brylee Butts added six kills while Lily Hoard recorded five kills, seven digs and three aces. Katie Menser had five kills and two digs.

Kyndra Winters totaled 26 assists to go with three aces. Claire Knoth had 10 digs and two aces. Benashka Thomas recorded two kills and one ace.

Rylee Thompson had a kill, an ace and five digs. T.J. Goodwin had two digs while Morgan Aikins added two aces.

Caldwell is now 7-1 all-time against Webster.

The Lady Tigers will go on the road on Thursday to face Livingston Central.
