Miguel Magana netted a hat trick and four other Hoptown Tigers got on the scoresheet in a 9-3 victory over Fort Campbell on Thursday at the Stadium of Champions.

The Tigers bounced back from a loss on Tuesday to move to 2-3 overall and even their 8th-District record at 1-1.  Fort Campbell slips to 1-2, with both losses coming against district competition.

Hoptown jumped in front just two minutes in when Gabe Harton dribbled down the end-line and played a ball across for Spencer Powell to tap in from close range.

Five minutes later, Nickolaus Klar pounced on a loose ball and scored, and the Tigers were up 3-0 inside ten minutes after Magana curled in a shot at the far post off a pass from Klar.

After a 25-yard strike from Magana, Fort Campbell showed some life when Alfaro Alonzo finished off a pass from Joziah Jardiolin to make it 4-1 with twelve minutes left in the half.

A flurry of goals to end the half started with Hoptown’s Bryan Fernandez finding the back of the net from the top of the box, followed by Magana from the same area to finish his hat trick.

Fort Campbell pulled another goal back when Aidan Blaszkowski scored on a breakaway, but Hoptown answered with a Klar strike on a ball over the top from Fernandez for a 7-2 halftime lead.

The second half was less eventful, with Harton punishing the Falcons for a bad clearance ahead of a goal from Fort Campbell’s Jardiolin.

Alex Ramirez capped the scoring when he put away a penalty kick in the 57th minute for a six-goal Hoptown cushion.

Goalkeeper KJ McMickens made four saves in goal to earn the win for Hoptown.  Dominic Medrano stopped seven shots for the Falcons.

Hopkinsville hits the road this weekend to play in the Russellville Panther Classic.  The Tigers will face the host Panthers and Barren County on Saturday.

Fort Campbell returns to the field on Monday for a visit from Ohio County.
