Chick-fil-A ‘Triple-A’ – Lyon County’s Brandon Ray

For Lyon County senior Brandon Ray, the sports field doesn’t just mean the soccer pitch.

Ray is shadowing athletic director Zach Thomas at Lyon, assisting in the athletic department as part of experience-based learning, with an eye toward making a future in the sports field.

Ray plays both soccer and basketball at Lyon, in addition to being involved in several other school and community programs.

He carries a 4.0 grade-point average in the classroom.

Some of his activities include:
• Logging near 80 minutes a game in Soccer
• Varsity Basketball
• Played Soccer Junior & Senior years
• Soccer co-captain this year
• Played Basketball all four years
• On the Sweet 16 Basketball team
• Basketball – Above & Beyond Award
• All District Soccer Team 2021
• Soccer – 100% Award
• Academic First-Team All-State every year
• Member of Beta Club, FBLA, TSA, FCA
• TSA Chaplain for two years
• Junior year Class Favorite
• Sophomore & Junior years Homecoming Court
• Member of First Baptist Church Youth Group
• Student and Club Member of the Month every year
• Junior and Senior years dual credit classes
• In soccer, sights set on 5th District Championship!

The Lyons picked up a key district win over Trigg County this past Monday. YSE spoke with Ray about the big victory and his future plans following the contest.
