Caldwell Regroups After First Set to Beat Christian 3-1

Christian County came from behind to take the first set, but Caldwell County returned the favor in the second set.

The Lady Tigers rode the momentum of that second set win to claim a 3-1 triumph, topping the Lady Colonels 21-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-17 in action at the Caldwell County Middle School gym.

Caldwell, now 3-4, got eight kills and seven digs from Lily Hoard along with six kills, five blocks and two digs from Katie Menser.

Ellie Ramey had six kills and a team-high 15 digs. Benashka Thomas recorded five kills, two block and two aces while Brylee Butts added five kills, two blocks and two digs.

Kyndra Winters had 31 assists to go with three kills, five digs and two aces. Claire Knoth had 12 digs and three aces while Rylee Thompson had four digs and two aces.

For Christian, Hailey Sparks totaled 14 kills, 10 digs and an assist while Skylar Kirby had 13 kills, four aces and a block.

Peyton Owens recorded 29 assists, an ace and a dig.

Rylee Owens had 19 digs, four kills and three assists.

The Lady Colonels also got six digs from Shiloh Baker, four digs and an ace from Chantelle Haby and two kills from Kaidence Atwell.

Caldwell has taken nine straight matches from Christian. The Lady Tigers now lead the all-time series 32-8-1.

Christian County is 0-3 this season. The Lady Colonels next host 8th District foe Fort Campbell on Thursday.

Caldwell plays at the CCMS gym again on Thursday, facing 7th District rival Hopkins County Central.
