Caldwell Volleyball Win Streak Against Crittenden Ends 3-1

The Caldwell County volleyball team saw a long winning streak end at Crittenden County on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers dropped a close four-set match with the Lady Rockets.

The Lady Tigers won the first set 25-20, but the Lady Rockets took the next three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-18.

Caldwell had won 26 straight in that series. Crittenden’s last win had been in the 2006 season.

The Lady Tigers still lead all-time 33-3.

Ellie Ramey had 10 kills and six digs for Caldwell while Katie Menser had eight kills, six digs and two blocks. Lily Hoard added six kills, 10 digs, two aces and two blocks.

Benashka Thomas tallied five kills, a block, two digs and three aces while Brylee Butts had four kills and four blocks.

Rylee Thompson and Claire Knoth each had 18 digs. Thompson added three kills and three aces while Knoth had a kill and two assists.

Kyndra Winters recorded 31 assists along with a kill and five digs.

The Lady Tigers are now 5-4 this season while Crittenden is 8-7.

Crittenden is coached by former Lady Tiger standout Bayley Tucker McDonald.

Caldwell’s girls will next face Trigg County Tuesday night at the CAB gym.
