Lady Eagles Soar Past University Heights

The Ohio County Lady Eagles entered the week with the second-highest RPI rating in the 3rd Region. They looked every bit the part as they took a big 12-2 home field win over the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers Monday evening.

Ohio County used a nine-goal eruption in the second half to put the game away.

The Lady Eagles got on the board quickly in the match, scoring at the three-minute mark to go up 1-0. Goals at the 17:00 and the 28:00 would extend the Ohio County lead to 3-0 at the half.

Ohio County came out firing in the second half, scoring goals at 44:00 and 47:00 to run the lead out to 5-0.

The Lady Blazer got a little momentum at the 50:00 when Skylar Cantrell rebounded an Audrey Grise shot and found the net to cut the lead to 5-1.

The Lady Eagle responded with three goals over the next eight minutes to make it 8-1.

UHA got on the board again when Skylar Cantrell delivered a pass that Emily Smith put into the net, trimming the lead to 8-2.

Ohio County then closed out the match with four goals, the last coming around the 70:00 mark to end the match at 12-2.

The Lady Blazers drop to 3-4-1 on the season with the loss. They return to action Saturday morning in a key district match at home against the Hopkinsille Lady Tigers.
