Caldwell Wins 3rd Straight, Turns Back Trigg 4-1

The Caldwell County Tiger soccer team has run off three straight wins.

The Tigers built a 4-0 halftime lead and dealt Trigg County a 4-1 setback Thursday night at Butler Stadium in Princeton.

Grayden Miller had two goals for Caldwell, including a goal off a header in the first 5 minutes of the game to put the Tigers up early.

Weston Phelps and Nick Adams also had first-half goals for Caldwell.

Phelps assisted on two goals while Colt Babb and Tyler Linton each had one assist.

Trigg (2-11-1) got on the scoreboard in the 42nd minute. Peyton Moore found the net off an assist from Makoto Hiter to make it a 4-1 ballgame early in the second half.

But that proved to be the final goal of the night.

The Tigers went 3-0 over the last seven days, beating Lyon County, Hopkins County Central and Trigg County

Caldwell is now 4-4-2 this season.

The Tigers will play again on Tuesday when they go to Paducah Tilghman.

The Wildcats are scheduled to play twice on Saturday in the Eagle Classic at Graves County, facing John Hardin at 1 p.m. and Harrisburg, Ill., at 5 p.m.
