With the region golf taking place this week, some of the state’ best players tuned up by playing in the Kentucky Golf Coaches’ Association 2022 All-State Championship over the weekend. On the girls’ side, two familiar names came in at the top of the list.

Marshall County’s Trinity Beth won the two-day event with a score of 138. That was four shots better than Lyon County’s Cathryn Brown, who carded a 142 for the 36 holes of the event. Seven birdies during the final round for Beth turned out to be the difference. That helped her overcome a double bogey early in her final round.

Beth and Brown were tied after round one, with both shooting a round of 70.

Madisonville-North Hopkins’ Karra Tucker finished in a five-way tie for third. She would take 4th place in a playoff.

UHA’s Conlee Lindsey finished the event in 63rd place. Logan County’s Abby Grace Forbes was tied for 67th.
