For a half, the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers were right in the thick of a tough 2nd Region battle against the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons Monday evening at the Stadium of Champions. However the Lady Maroon offense found the goal four times in the second half as they pulled out to a 5-0 win over the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Maroons found the net for the first time just 14 minutes into the match, as Lillie Carman scored off a pass from Kennedy Justice to make it 1-0.
For the rest of the half, the Hopkinsville defense kept Madisonville in check, and the two teams went into the break with the score still sitting at 1-0.
Just six minutes into the second half, it was Kennedy Justice scoring off a pass from Lillie Carman to make it 2-0. The same combination scored again 8 minutes later to extend the lead to 3-0.
Lillie Carman scored her second goal of the night at the 66:00 mark to make it 4-0. Anna Sampson would add an insurance goal later in the half to wrap up the scoring for the night.
The loss drops the Lady Tigers to 3-9-1. Hoptown goes on the road Thursday to take on Muhlenberg County.
