The Fort Campbell Falcons ended their two-match losing streak and picked up their third win of the season as they hosted the Trigg County Wildcats on post Tuesday night. The Falcons scored the first two goals of the night and then kept the Wildcats at arm’s length in picking up a 5-2 win.

Senior Aidan Blaszkowski scored the first of his two goals on Senior Night at the 13:00 mark as he slid one past the Trigg County keeper to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead.

Freshman Joziah Jardiolin took a header pass from Blaszkowski and found the net at 25:50 to extend the lead to 2-0.

With the half winding down, the Trigg County Wildcats showed the importance of playing to the whistle. Peyton Moore scored from right in front in the final five seconds of the opening half to cut the lead to 2-1 at the break.

Just two minutes into the second half, Jardiolin scored on a shot across the face of the goal to the left post as Fort Campbell took a 3-1 lead. Jardiolin would score off a rebound to move the lead out to 4-1 at the 64:30 mark.

The Falcons were called for a foul in the box at 71:00 and Alex Hurt drilled the PK to give the Wildcats some life at 4-2.

Possibly the play of the night came a few moments later. With the Wildcats taking the momentum that Fort Campbell had held for most of the second half, the Falcons were called for a second foul in the box at 75:45. Alex Hurt again lined up for the shot, which could cut the margin to one, with still plenty of time left.

However, Fort Campbell keeper Dominic Medrano deflected the penalty kick and the Falcons were able to clear the rebound. Aidan Blaszkowski would score on a runout in the final five seconds of the match to get to the final 5-2 score.

Fort Campbell improves to 3-5 with the win. The Falcons take on Christian County next Monday.

Trigg drops to 2-15-1. The Wildcats are back to action next Tuesday on the road at Todd County Central.
