Several of the competitors in Monday’s 1st Region golf tournament at the Country Club of Paducah showed up having just played 36 holes over the weekend in the Kentucky Golf Coaches’ Association 2022 All-State Championship in Lexington and Georgetown.
Another 18 holes on the difficult course in Paducah left Lyon County’s Cathryn Brown eager for a bit of a break.
The KHSAA State First Round is next week in Owensboro with the State Final Rounds the following week in Bowling Green.
YSE caught up with Brown, who shot a 75 to finish second in the regional after also placing runner-up in the all-state event, following Monday’s round.
