The Caldwell County Tiger defense got into the scoring act in a big way during Friday’s 49-16 win over Ballard Memorial.

The Tigers returned three interceptions for touchdowns, including two 12 seconds apart in the first quarter while going up 28-0.

Jamus Carneyhan took a pick 22 yards for a score. On the very next play from scrimmage, Landon Davis intercepted and went 25 yards for a touchdown.

But the highlight came in the second quarter when freshman Cooper Mobley returned a pick 96 yards for a score.

Mobley’s pick tied for the second-longest in Tiger history. Donovan Dame returned an interception 97 yards for a touchdown in 2001 against Crittenden County while Lucas Green had a 96-yard interception return for a score in 1993 at Reidland.

Logan Chambliss had a 94-yard pick-six earlier this season against Crittenden.
