Lady Blazers Suffer From ‘Hill’s Three Blues’

9-26-oats

Madisonville-North Hopkins sophomore Madison Hill nearly matched her season-scoring output in Monday’s 8-1 win over University Heights Academy. Hill scored three times to push her season goal total to seven and push the Lady Maroon’s win streak to three games.

Lillie Carman got the Lady Maroons on the board with her 16th goal of the season in the eighth minute. Madisonville would follow with two more goals in the next nine minutes. Kailey Barber and Kennedy Justice gave Madisonville a 3-0 lead before Hill notched her first goal of the night just before halftime.

UHA dented the scoreboard for the first time 16 minutes into the second half when Audrey Grise found the net from the right side.

Madisonville would close out the scoring with four goals in the final 15 minutes. Hill scored the next two goals followed by Carman and concluded with a nice cross from Justice to Hannah McKinsey in the final minute.

Madison Hill recorded the hat trick for Madisonville Monday.

Madisonville improved to 7-8-1 with its fifth straight win over the Lady Blazers.

UHA coach Michael Parker has coached some young teams in his time at UHA but this year’s team may be his youngest. The ‘Baby Blazers’ started seven freshmen against Madisonville Monday. And help is on the way as the JV team won 2-1.

UHA fell to 5-6-1 and will play at Apollo Tuesday.

  1. Their help may be on the way but looks like centrals jv team may be making a big come up for both teams next fall. They went undefeated this year. Tied uha jv and held both north and henderson to zero scores. With their jv team scoring well and the freshman goalkeeper only having 5 goals scored on her all year it looks like next season may just be a great one to watch.
