Rheagan Lindsey Has Two More Rounds of Golf Ahead of Her

Reagan Lindsey wanted one more shot to play at the state golf tournament in Bowling Green. The University Heights Academy senior tied for 55th place there two years ago but missed out on the return trip last year when she lost in a playoff at the region tournament.

Lindsey will get her shot at redemption after finishing in 10th place Tuesday in the first round of the state tournament in Bowling Green. She shot a nine-over par 81.

She began her day on the back nine where she had five pars and a birdie to go out with a 39. Despite four consecutive bogeys on holes five through eight, she was able to knock down a par on the ninth hole and finish squarely inside the qualifying range for next week.

Under the new format adopted this year, there is no cut after the first round so Lindsey knows she will have two rounds to close out her high school career. The girls’ state golf tournament will begin on October 7 at the Bowling Green Country Club
