The Christian County Lady Colonels will look for a reset this weekend and get ready to open the postseason next week in the 8th District tournament. The Lady Colonels traveled to Owensboro Thursday night and dropped a 4-1 decision at Apollo.

The loss was the third in a row for the Lady Colonels.

Christian County had things going their way early in the match. The Lady Colonels scored on a penalty kick by Macy Bush after the E-Gals were called for a foul in the box to give Christian County a 1-0 lead.

Apollo scored shortly after to even things up at 1-1. That would be the score as the two teams headed into the halftime break.

Coming out of the break, Apollo took control of the match fairy early in the second half. The E-Gals found the net three times to go up 4-1 and then rode it out from there.

Goalie Olivia Fentress ended the night with 13 saves for Christian County.

Coach Hannah Ambrose did praise her team’s effort, pointing to improved ball movement over the course of the match.

The Lady Colonels will now begin the “second” season Monday night when they take on #1 seed University Heights in the semifinal round of the girls’ 8th District tournament.
