Maroons Extend District Championship Streak to 11

Madisonville-North Hopkins blew open a 2-0 game at halftime with six goals in the final 40 minutes on the way to stretching its 7th District championship streak to 11 years.

The Maroons blanked Hopkins County Central 8-0 Thursday night in the district title tilt at Butler Stadium in Princeton.

Ivan Juarez had two goals and two assists while J.J. Brown had two goals and one helper for Madisonville, which held possession of the ball for much of the night.

The Maroons (17-5) also got goals from Logan Terry, Maverick Peyton, Sam Dodds and Eli Redpath.

Noah Mays added two assists while Dodds and Kyle Yates each had one assist for Madisonville, which is the top-rated team in the 2nd Region in the KHSAA RPI.

Both Madisonville and Hopkins Central (10-11) advance to the 2nd Region tournament next week at Henderson County.
