After a 7-over 79 on Friday at the KHSAA Golf State Championship, Madisonville-North Hopkins’ Karra Tucker fired a 72 on Saturday to jump up the leaderboard and finish 7th at Bowling Green Country Club.

Tucker, the Region 2 champion, had three birdies on Friday, but she eclipsed that total on the front nine on Saturday.  She followed a birdie on one with four straight pars before back-to-back birdies on holes five and six.

Her only bogey on the front came on number seven, but she got that stroke back with another birdie on the par-4 9th hole to make the turn with a 3-under 33.

However, three bogeys in the first five holes on the back slowed her momentum.  A birdie on 17 got her back below par, but Tucker closed her round with a bogey on 18 to finish even.  Her 72 was the fourth-lowest score of the day, leaving her with a two-day total of 151.
