Calloway Plays Spoiler on Caldwell Senior Night

Calloway County played spoiler on Caldwell County’s Senior Night.

The Lady Lakers took the final two sets to pull out a 3-2 volleyball victory Tuesday night at the CAB gym in Princeton.

Calloway took home a 16-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-19, 15-7 triumph.

Caldwell is now 12-16 while Calloway is 10-13.

The Lady Tigers had won their five previous matchups with the Lady Lakers. Caldwell still leads all-time 8-3.

The Lady Tigers got eight kills, a block and three digs from senior Katie Menser while Brylee Butts had eight kills and two blocks.

Senior Kyndra Winters recorded 26 assists, 22 digs, two kills and three aces while classmate Claire Knoth had 25 digs and two assists.

Benashka Thomas had five kills and five digs while Ellie Ramey totaled three kills and five digs.

Senior Lily Hoard had three kills, a block, four digs and two aces.

Rylee Thompson added two kills, seven digs and two aces while T.J. Goodwin had four digs.

Caldwell’s girls finish the regular season on Saturday by hosting Todd County Central.

The Lady Tigers will host the 7th District tournament next week. Caldwell plays Hopkins County Central at 6 p.m. on Monday with the winner advancing to face top-seeded Madisonville-North Hopkins in the championship game on Tuesday.
