Defending 2nd-Region champions Henderson County proved too much for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers in Monday’s quarterfinal matchup, with the Lady Colonels running out 8-0 winners at the Stadium of Champions.

The Lady Tigers’ season ends with a record of 4-13-2.  Henderson County moves to 14-6-1 and will meet Madisonville-North Hopkins in the semifinals on Tuesday.  The Lady Colonels have won six of the last seven region titles, with the Lady Maroons claiming the trophy in 2020.

Henderson was on top inside the first five minutes when Taylor Dunn finished off a pass from Ashton Lynam.  Six minutes later, Dunn scored unassisted for a 2-0 lead.

Marley Collins added the third goal in the 18th minute, and Kacee Butler made it 4-0 off a pass from Lila Hall.

The Lady Colonels closed the half with a pair of goals in the last six minutes.  Imarie Carter found the back of the net off Lynam’s second assist, and Jaylynn Lyons scored to make it 6-0 at the break.

Dunn completed her hat trick just after halftime on a pass from Morgan Smith.  Henderson coasted the rest of the way, closing out the scoring when Lila Hall’s free-kick bounced off the post and Lynam was there to clean it up for her 35th goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Chloe Honeycutt made five saves to record her eighth shutout of the season.  Taylor Joachim had 14 stops for the Lady Tigers.
