Caldwell Drops Regular-Season Finale to Todd

Caldwell County’s girls will try to reverse a late-season slump when they host the 7th District volleyball tournament starting Monday night.

The Lady Tigers finished the regular season on Saturday by dropping a straight-set decision to Todd County Central 25-17, 25-8, 25-21 at the CAB gym in Princeton.

Caldwell, now 12-17, has dropped its last three matches and has just one win in its last nine contests.

Lily Hoard had four kills and 13 digs in Saturday’s loss to Todd.

Brylee Butts had three kills and a block while Katie Menser had two kills and a block.

Kyndra Winters totaled 12 assists and three digs. Claire Knoth had nine digs. T.J. Goodwin recorded seven digs.

Rylee Thompson had a kill and five digs. Benashka Thomas had one kill and a block. Ellie Ramey had one kill.

The Lady Tigers will face Hopkins County Central (10-20) in Monday’s 6 p.m. semifinal contest in the district tournament.

Monday’s winner will then face top-seeded Madisonville-North Hopkins for the district championship on Tuesday.
