Caldwell County Football Gains Forfeit Win

Caldwell County hosts Trigg County for the annual 139 Bowl Friday night at Tiger Stadium in Princeton. However, the Tigers have already picked up one football win this week.

Caldwell’s season opener at Christian County has been declared a forfeit victory for the Tigers.

Caldwell dropped that game 18-9 at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville back on Aug. 19. But that contest is now listed on the KHSAA website as a 1-0 forfeit win for the Tigers.

Christian County self-reported that it used an ineligible player in that contest, resulting in the forfeit.

So instead of carrying a 3-6 record into the regular-season finale against Trigg, Caldwell is now 4-5 with a chance to finish the regular season with a .500 record with a win over the Wildcats.

Kickoff time is at 7:00 at Tiger Stadium. Caldwell County will honor its seniors prior to the contest.
