For Todd County Central, it was a numbers game Saturday at the region cheer competition hosted by Owensboro High School.
Todd County competes in a cheer region that consists of schools in basketball regions 3 and 4. Todd finished in sixth place in the Game Day Small Squad division. Their score of 87.00 was just over two points out of fourth place. Franklin-Simpson’s score of 93.90 took first place.
It was a 2.75-point increase over last year’s routine and is one of the highest scores Todd County has recorded at the region level. Their score would have been good enough for a second-place finish and a trip to the state competition had they competed in three other regional events held elsewhere in the state Saturday.
