It’s still several months off, but the Caldwell County track program has scheduled what would be its first home meet in over a decade.
According to CCHS track coach Steve Shaw, the first home track meet for the Tigers and Lady Tigers at Tiger Stadium this spring will be March 17 at 5:30 p.m.
Teams that have committed to competing against Caldwell are Hopkins County Central, McLean County and Muhlenberg County.
It is believed that will be Caldwell’s first home track meet since April of 2010.
Caldwell stopped hosting meets when its track surface deteriorated to the point that the program was not comfortable holding competitions. That resulted in the Tigers and Lady Tigers going on the road for all of their track meets.
However, a new track surface was installed in August, meaning home meets are back on the schedule for the CCHS track squad.
