The Heritage Christian Academy Warriors are looking to make their final season in the Kentucky Christian Athletic Association a good one and already have a good idea of where they stack up against the defending state champions.

The Warriors return two starters from last year‘s 26–11 team that fell to Galilean Christian in the state championship game. The Warriors have already played eight games this season with both losses coming to Galilean in the KCAA Tip-off classic.

The Warriors return all-state guard Carlos Robles, who was named to the KCAA All-State team last year and topped the 1,000-point career mark earlier this season. Sophomore Jason Leek gives the Warriors one of the better backcourts in the area. Leek’s ability to handle the basketball takes some of the pressure off Robles when teams try to press the Warriors.

Sophomore Tra Fowler and senior Trentin Fowler also return to the Warrior backcourt. Senior Trevor Gibson will provide the size for the Warriors in the middle but that’s where Heritage is thin.

Gibson, who is third on the team in scoring and second in rebounding to Robles through eight games, must stay on the floor and out of foul trouble.

Senior Manny Diaz and sophomore Angel Lopez should be solid contributors as the season wears on and juniors Camden Higgins and Landen Wells should also find a way to see considerable court time along with senior Landon Porter.

Heritage Christian was 7-7 against KHSAA competition last year and won the Kentucky Christian Athletic Conference tournament title in their first season.

Heritage is once again slated to play in the All A Classic region tournament and the KCAC tournament as they make the full-time move to the KHSAA next year.

HCA will play at least 15 games against KHSAA opponents, but the Warriors would like to write victorious lyrics to their KCAA swan song this year as they make the full transition next year.
