Webster County opened up a lead in the second quarter and went on to down Lyon County 64-42 in girls’ season-opening basketball action Tuesday night in Dixon.
Lyon trailed just 13-8 after one period but saw Webster go up 32-16 at halftime.
Eighth grader Trinity Taylor led the Lady Lyons with 15 points while Grace Wynn hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 10 points.
Webster got 20 points from Katelyn Cates. Brooke Shepherd added 14 points and Hannah Yates 12 for the Lady Trojans.
Lyon’s girls will take on Marshall County Friday night in the Hoopfest in Draffenville.
