Offensive struggles in the first half Saturday were a bit too much for the UHA Lady Blazers to overcome. The Grayson County Lady Cougars took an early lead and never looked back as they cruised past the Lady Blazers 70-31.
UHA scored seven points in both the first quarter and the second quarter as the Lady Cougars took a 15-7 lead after the opening eight minutes and then extended that lead to 40-14 at the half.
Grayson County kept the pressure up as the second half got underway, running the lead out to 62-24 after the third.
With the running clock brought into play, the final quarter played out quickly, with Grayson County riding it on out to the final 39-point margin.
LeeLee Love was the leading scorer for the Lady Blazers with 9 points. Alicia Davis added 8 points, while Amaryia Bass finished with 7.
Sydney Perkins was the top scorer for Grayson County with 25 points. Isabel Blanton added 17 for the Lady Cougars.
UHA drops to 0-3 with the loss. The Lady Blazers return to action Tuesday when they host Union County.
