Lady Storm ‘Thunder’ Past University Heights

The Hopkins Central Lady Storm picked up their 4th win in a row Friday night. The Lady Storm hit the UHA Lady Blazers with a big opening quarter and rolled on, picking up a 78-34 win in Mortons Gap.

Brooklyn Clark, Emile Jones, and Mercy Sutton combined to score all 24 of Hopkins Central’s points in the opening quarter as the Lady Storm took a 24-14 lead. The trio also knocked down four shots from behind the arc.

Central continued to stay hot from behind the 3-point line in the second quarter, knocking down four more as the lead grew to 43-22. Cold shooting plagued the Lady Blazers in the quarter as they were able to knock down just three shots from the field.

The Lady Storm came out of the break and continued to find the range from the outside. Central connected on three more from behind the line as they extended the lead out to 64-33.

Reserves saw much of the action over the final quarter for Hopkins Central as they moved on out to the 44 point win.

UHA was paced by Alicia Davis with 11. LeeLee Love added 8 for the Lady Blazers.

Hopkins Central was led by Mercy Sutton with 22 points. Brooklyn Clark added 21.

UHA falls to 0-5 with the loss. The Lady Blazers host Warren Central Saturday evening.

Hopkins Central goes to 4-1. The Lady Storm travel across county Tuesday to match up against Madisonville.
