Kentucky had two of the nation’s best freshman tight ends — Jordan Dingle and Josh Kattus — this season that recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow says are already drawing attention from NFL scouts.

Kentucky also had verbal commitments from two tight ends — Tanner LeMaster of Ohio and Jakob Dixon of Louisville — in this year’s recruiting class.

But that didn’t stop Marrow and UK from adding another tight end when 6-4, 225-pound Khamari Anderson of Detroit, a one-time Cincinnati commit, announced Monday he would sign with Kentucky next week. He had just made his official visit to Kentucky.

Anderson, a top 25 tight end nationally in the 247Sports rankings, had offers from Southeastern Conference teams Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi. He also had offers from USC, Michigan, Washington and Wisconsin along with offers from Michigan State, Central Michigan, Pittsburgh, Western Michigan, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Indiana, Eastern Michigan and  Howard.

Anderson also played defensive end and has been named an Under Armour All-American.

Scouts have praised his route running ability along with his blocking skills. Recruiting analysts also like his athleticism and upside in college.
