Despite his high school athletic career coming to an end last year, Murray State University freshman Tiler Ware is still putting to use lessons and values learned as a Trigg County Wildcat as he embarks on the next phase of his life.

Tiler suited up for both the Wildcat football and basketball teams over the course of his four years at TCHS while also staying busy with positions in Future Health Occupations of America, BETA, and the National Honors Society.

While he didn’t participate in student government in high school, it appealed to him right away at Murray State as the perfect opportunity to get involved on campus and meet new people.

As a Student Government Association Freshman Senator, Tiler holds bi-monthly Freshman Council meetings for students to discuss things happening around campus and express concerns.  He and his co-senator also attend weekly SGA Senate meetings and relay information to the student body.

Tiler says his experience playing sports prepared him for his role in student government, helping him learn to communicate in a team setting and set goals and accomplish them.

He still scratches the competitive itch by playing intramural sports on campus and also stays busy with philanthropy events as a part of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Tiler is pursuing a degree in Finance with an eye toward a career in wealth management.  He credits his dad’s support for his wide-ranging interests and calls him “the most hard-working and determined person I’ve ever met.”
