Warriors Find Way Past Oak Ridge Christian 61-49

The Heritage Christian Academy boys’ basketball team put four players in double figures on Monday to knock off hosts Oak Ridge Christian 61-49.

The Warriors moved to 7-2 in KCAA play, with the only two losses coming to Galilean.

HCA’s Carlos Robles and Trentin Fowler combined for eight first-quarter points to overcome six for Oak Ridge’s Jake Meredith and lead by a point.

The Warriors were once again a point better in the second quarter, with six each for Jason Leek and Manny Diaz helping them to a 27-25 lead at the break.

Defense was the difference in the third quarter, with the Warriors holding Oak Ridge to only nine points in the frame.  Fowler scored seven for HCA, and Robles added four more for a ten-point advantage.

Camden Higgins came off the HCA bench to score five in the fourth.  Meredith and Harrison Hampton combined for nine for Oak Ridge, but the Warriors held on for the win.

Fowler led the Warriors with 16, followed by Robles and Diaz with 12 each, and Leek with ten.

Next up for HCA is a matchup with Todd County Central at the Battle of the Border Presented by United Southern Bank on December 28.
