The defending Boys’ 4th Region All A Classic champions looked quite prepared Friday night to defend that title next week. The Todd County Central Rebels put pressure on the Logan County Cougars from the time they got off the bus in Elkton Friday night for their 13th District contest and the Cougars wilted early as the Rebels rolled to a 70-48 win.

The game was played in front of a packed house that began the night ready for a tough battle but ended up with Rebel fans celebrating a big win.

The game was actually not as close as the final score would indicate. Both teams pulled their starters in the waning moments of the third quarter with Todd County Central holding a 41-point lead. The Logan County reserves chewed up almost half of that lead in the final nine minutes of the game.

The Cougars must have felt like the bug on the windshield in the early portion of the contest. With Trayvon Foster opening hot, Todd County Central quickly bolted out to an 8-3 lead. Then came the knockout blow that effectively settled the issue early on.

As Foster and big man Jamison Glass took over for Todd Central, the Rebels went on an 11-0 run to push the lead out to 19-3. The first quarter would end with the score at 21-4.

The snowball kept rolling downhill for the Cougars as the second quarter got started. A 16-3 run for the Rebels pushed the lead out to 30 points at 37-7. The half ended with Todd Central up 47-14.

Foster and Glass came out firing again in the second half. A 7-2 spurt ran the lead on out to 54-16. The lead would grow to 65-24 late in the quarter, which is the point that both coaches pulled their starters.

The Logan County subs won the 4th quarter 20-5, but it was all settled by that point as the Rebels claimed an impressive win.

Trayvon Foster had 23 points for the Rebels, including four made three-pointers. Jamison Glass also had 23 points. Included in that total were three thunderous dunks that brought the Rebel faithful to their feet.

Logan County was led by Evan Campbell, who was the only player to reach double-figures, with 14 points. JunVontre Dillard added seven points for the Cougars.

The Rebels go to 11-7 with the win and get ready to begin defense of their All A Regional championship as they host Metcalfe County Monday night.
