Trigg County went toe to toe with Crittenden County for two quarters, trailing by three points at halftime. Then came the third quarter.

The Lady Rockets increased its lead to eight points and then put the game away with a 21-0 run over an eight-minute stretch on their way to a 62-47 win Tuesday at Rocket Arena.

The win was Crittenden’s sixth straight over Trigg County – their longest streak since winning 13 straight from 2012 to 2018.

The first quarter featured three ties and a pair of lead changes. Trigg was ahead 13-10 early until Natalie Boone hit a 3-pointer and Taylor Guess followed with a bucket to give the Lady Rockets the lead for good.

While Crittenden County held the lead throughout the second quarter, Trigg cut the deficit to 29-28 with under a minute left.

Her 29 points moved her past 2,300 career points, joining Lyon County’s Saundra Oliver (1975-81) as the only 5th District girls players with over 2,300 points. She needs 48 points to pass Oliver for the all-time district mark.
