Christian County High School’s all-time winningest football coach will be inducted into the Dawahare’s/KHSAA Hall of Fame later this year.

Dan Goble will be part of a 14-person class that includes Dave Cowans, Randy Reese, Charlie Tyra, and the late Jared Lorenzen.

Goble’s overall coach record was 183-159-1. He began his coaching career at Erlanger Lloyd for five years before taking the Shelby County head coaching position where he was 16-15 in three seasons.

Goble was Louisville Atherton’s head coach for nine years, posting a 50-43-1 record.

He came to Christian County in 1981, following Fred Clayton’s tenure as Colonel coach.

Goble would lead the Colonels to Class 4A state championships in 1982 and 1984. The Colonels won 12 Western Kentucky Conference titles and six district titles under Goble, who earned Coach of the Year honors four times.

His record at Christian County was 114-104, making him the winningest coach in CCHS history.

In 37 years of coaching, Goble’s football teams only had seven losing records.

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association will induct its Class of 2023 into the Dawahares/KHSAA Hall of Fame presented by Roberts Insurance on Sunday, April 30, at the Central Bank Center Ballroom in Lexington. Tickets will be available for purchase at khsaatickets.org beginning Feb. 6.
