MaKenna Hendricks won a girls’ state wrestling championship as a seventh grader. She was a runner-up last year. The Trigg County freshman is looking to get back to the top of the podium at Saturday’s state tournament in Lexington.
It’s been an up-and-down year for Hendricks, who had had to deal with injuries and a mid-season coaching change. However, she enters Saturday as the No. 1 wrestler in her weight class and hopes her off-season work pays off Saturday.
