Logan County Rallies Past Lady Rebels 44-43

It’s one of those games that will leave the Todd County Central Lady Rebels asking some ‘what if’ questions. The Logan County Lady Cougars rallied from a third quarter deficit with a big final quarter and took a 44-43 district win over the Lady Rebels Friday night in Russellville.

Todd Central carried a 31-24 lead into the final eight minutes only to see the Lady Cougars come roaring back. A big part of the last quarter rally came at the free throw line for Logan County. The Lady Cougars went 10 of 15 at the stripe over the final eight minutes.

The Lady Rebels got the night off to a good start. With Alexis Taylor controlling the paint early, Todd Central took a 13-6 lead after the opening quarter. Taylor had 8 points in the first.

Logan County battled back in the second quarter. The Lady Cougars held the Lady Rebels to just seven points as they cut the deficit all the way down to one point at 20-19 going into the half.

The Lady Rebels’ defense was the story as the second half got rolling. Todd Central limited Logan County to just one field goal in the third quarter as they extended the lead back out to 31-24.

The win for Logan County avenges a 13-point loss to the Lady Rebels back on January 13 in Elkton.

Todd Central was led by Alexis Taylor with 15. Abby Williams added 12 points for the Lady Rebels.

Logan County was paced by Gracie Borders and Brenley Adler, who scored 13 points each.

Todd County Central drops to 11-10 with the loss. Logan County improves to 14-10.
