Hopkins Central Runs Away From Trigg for Senior Night Win

Hopkins County Central made quick work of Trigg County on Senior Night for the Lady Storm, handing the Lady Wildcats a 60-21 loss in Morton’s Gap.

The Lady Storm broke open a close game with a 25-2 run that turned a 7-5 lead into a 32-7 advantage. The 9:25 drought without a drought was aided by 14 first quarter turnovers. For the game, Hopkins Central scored 34 points off 25 Trigg turnovers.

Trigg County was held to a season-low seven field goals, missing 33 shots for a 17-percent shooting clip.

Brooklyn Clark paced three lady Storm in double figures with 17 points and five steals. Emile Jones and Mercy Sutton each scored 12 points for Hopkins County Central, who improved to 8-3 all-time against Trigg County.

Audrey Alexander paced Trigg County with six points and 11 rebounds, and Kara Hyde also scored six points with six rebounds.

Hopkins County Central remained unbeaten against region opposition with 12 wins in 12 games. The Lady Storm improved to 16-7 and will host Caldwell County Monday.

Trigg County dropped to 6-14 and will host Livingston Central Monday.
